Family Responsibility Leave
VMware provides Family Responsibility Leave in accordance with statutory requirements so that you can take the necessary time off work to care of your child.
Once you have been employed with the Company for four (4) or more months, you are entitled to three (3) days’ paid family responsibility leave (subject to the provisions of the relevant legislation) during each complete year of your employment with the Company.
You may take this leave:
- when your child falls sick; or
- following the death of your spouse, life partner, child, adopted child, parent, adoptive parent, grandparent, grandchild, or sibling.
Please note that any bereavement leave entitlement under our Time Away from Work Policy that you take will count first against this leave entitlement.
Family Responsibility Leave can be taken in respect of a whole or part of a day. Any unused entitlement for this type of leave will lapse at the end of each calendar year.
Salary during Family Responsibility Leave
You will receive your usual base salary for up to three (3) consecutive days of your Family Responsibility Leave.
