In addition, employees are granted up to two (2) business days for the loss of a family pet.

Eligibility

All active employees, including full-time, part time, FTC, and paid interns, are eligible upon your date of hire. There is no minimum period of Company service required.

Entitlement

You may take Bereavement for up to four (4) weeks at 100% of your base salary, for a total of twenty (20) working days in the event of death of a loved one. You may take Bereavement for up to two (2) business days for the loss of a family pet.

Scheduling Bereavement

  • Discuss your Bereavement plans, in advance, with your manager. If an absence is unexpected, you should notify your manager as soon as possible. While business requirements must be taken into consideration, your manager will work with you to ensure that your work load does not restrict you from taking Bereavement.
  • Upon your return, record your Bereavement time in Workday [VMware network access required].

Please note: This information is an overview of Bereavement Time. Refer to the Bereavement Time Off policy [VMware network access required] for detailed information.

For additional support and resources to consider with the death of a family member, see the Loss of a Loved One life event page.
