Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP), managed by OPTUM, is available at no charge to you and helps VMware employees be at their best, physically and emotionally. OPTUM confidentially provides you and your family members with objective, third-party support and advice for navigating life’s challenges — including marital and relationship issues, alcoholism, drug dependency, work-life balance, stress, financial management and much more.

OPTUM services feature confidential one-on-one counseling, referrals and education tools including:

  • Unlimited call-in support
  • 6 Face-to-face therapist visits for you and your family members
  • Financial and legal services
  • Online Coaching and Self-Help Tools
  • Health Risk Assessments
  • Referrals for care-giving such as childcare, long-distance adult care-giving, and special needs support
  • Work-Life services for verified community resources

All VMware employees and your dependents are eligible for up to 6 no-cost, confidential counseling sessions per problem, per year. Depending on your situation, you may be referred to other providers for further counseling or assistance after your OPTUM counseling sessions have been exhausted. If you choose to use additional services, you will be responsible for any expenses incurred, although your VMware medical plan may cover some of the costs.

OPTUM is available 24 hours a day / 7 days a week, so that they are available when you need them most.
