Annual Leave provides you with paid time off from your job for personal reasons including: rest, recreation, vacation.
VMware provides each Taiwan employee the greater of twenty (20) days or statutory maximum numbers of days of Annual Leave per calendar year. Where the employee has worked for VMware for more than ten years, for each additional year of service, an additional day of Annual Leave shall be granted, provided that the aggregate number of days of Annual Leave shall not exceed thirty days. For new hires, your first year of entitlement will be pro-rated based on: Number of months in service ÷ 12 x 20.
VMware will operate a vacation year equal to the calendar year. Vacation credit not used can be carried forward for a maximum of 5 days to the following year. Subject to encashment of unused statutory leave, any other unused leave will be cancelled without any payment or credit in other forms.
VMware will only cash out any unused balance of statutory Annual Leave for the relevant year. It is presumed that employees are utilizing statutory leave first.
Scheduling Annual Leave
- Discuss your Annual Leave plans, in advance, with your manager. If an absence is unexpected, you should notify your manager as soon as possible. While business requirements must be taken into consideration, your manager will work with you to ensure that work load does not restrict you from taking Vacation time.
- Once agreed with your manager, enter your Annual Leave in Workday [VMware network access required] under time off type Vacation Time Off.
