Enrolling in Benefits
You may enroll or change your benefits coverage with VMware if you fall under one of the respective categories:
- Open Enrollment for Existing Employee
- New Hires or Rehires
- Qualified Life Event
Open Enrollment occurs in winter each year with elections taking effect January 1st of the following year. Be sure to review the plans and plan changes and make your elections.
If you are a new hire and wish to enroll your eligible dependents, you should update your benefits during onboarding process, and if you failed to do so, please update the information in Workday [VMware network access required]. Eligibility for you and your legal dependents into the insurance plan begins as of your hire date or the date your status changes.
If you are a regular full-time employee who works 40 or more scheduled hours per week, you are eligible to enroll in VMware benefit plans. Eligibility begins as of your hire date or the date your status changes. VMware offers benefit coverage for you and your legal dependents. Eligible dependents include:
- Your legal spouse under 65 years of age
- Your dependent child(ren) up to age 18 or age 23 if they are full-time students
Changing Coverage Mid-Year
A qualified life event allows you to enroll or make changes to your insurance plans, mid-year. A qualified life event may include:
