Reservist Leave is provided to go for training on an annual basis to refresh your skills in military reserve forces in accordance with the statutory requirements.
Regular full-time and part-time employees are entitled to Reservist Leave based on the period stipulated in the SAF10 form.
You are required to inform your manager and HR Source [VMware network access required] as soon as you receive the official Notification of National Service Call Up –SAF 100 issued by the government so that VMware can file your make-up pay claims for your salary to the government in advance of your leave. Since VMware participates in the Direct Reimbursement to Employers of Claims for NS Training Scheme (DIRECT), you should not file a Make-up Pay (MUP) claim. VMware will continue to pay you as per the payment schedule when you attend military training and claim reimbursement from MINDEF. It is important to note that you are required to submit a copy of the SAF100 form together with your completed leave application template.
Scheduling Reservist Leave
- Reservist Leave must be discussed with your manager. While business requirements must be taken into consideration when planning leave periods, management and staff will work together on reasonable measures to ensure that workload does not unreasonably restrict the taking of Reservist Leave.
- After your manager has been notified, record your Reservist Leave in Workday [VMware network access required]. Provide HR Source [VMware network access required] with a copy of your SAF100 form.
