Family Care Leave
To cater to diverse employee demographics, VMware aims to provide support and resources to employees and their families to maintain work-life balance and offer a family-friendly environment while undertaking care giving responsibilities.
Eligibility and Entitlement
All full and part time employees who are single, married without child dependents or who are ineligible for Child Care Leave are entitled to 2 days of paid Family Care Leave every calendar year. Family Care Leave is pro-rated for newly-hired full-time and part-time employees. Unused Family Care Leave does not get rolled over annually and must be utilized during the calendar year only.
Scheduling Family Care Leave
- All Family Care Leave must be discussed with your manager. If an absence is unexpected, you should notify your manager as soon as reasonably possible.
- After your manager has been notified, record your Family Care Leave in Workday [VMware network access required].
