VMware provides Study Leave in accordance with statutory requirements.
All regular employees with a minimum of six (6) months of service or a total of twelve (12) months service during the previous two (2) years have a legal right to unpaid Study Leave.
There are a few restrictions as to the kind of study that may be pursued, but it must be an organized course. Study Leave is limited only by the length of the course.
Scheduling Study Leave
- Discuss your Study Leave plans in advance with your manager. While business requirements must be taken into consideration, your manager will work with you to ensure that work load does not restrict you from taking Study Leave.
- Once agreed with your manager, enter your Study Leave time off in Workday [VMware network access required] under time off type Study/Exams Time Off (Hours) – Unpaid.
