VMware is dedicated to work-life balance and offers a family-friendly environment that is supportive of working parents. VMware provides Maternity Leave in accordance with statutory requirements so that you can take the necessary time off work to recover and to bond with your new baby.
All full-time and part-time employees, excluding agency workers or self-employed contractors who are pregnant or have recently given birth are eligible for Maternity Leave. The total length of your entitlement is 140 days and you are required to take the ‘prenatal leave’ in the amount of 70 days before the expected date of birth unless otherwise agreed between the employee and the Company.
The Maternity Leave is divided into Prenatal Leave and Postnatal Leave per the below:

In cases of premature delivery, the unused days of Maternity Leave are added to the leave for the delivery.
VMware will top-up the pay you receive during Maternity Leave. For the duration of your Maternity Leave you will be paid your usual base salary inclusive of any statutory maternity allowance which you may be entitled to.
Scheduling Maternity Leave
You should inform your Manager and HR Source EMEA of your pregnancy as soon as reasonably possible or minimum 15 days prior commencing your leave, so that proper arrangements can be made prior to your leave period.
Returning to Work
While on Maternity Leave you should maintain open communication with your manager and HR Source EMEA. VMware will assume that you wish to return to work at the end of your Maternity Leave period however;
you should contact HR Source EMEA towards the end of your scheduled Maternity Leave to confirm and arrange your return to work.
