Sick Time Off
At VMware we encourage a healthy work environment. You are entitled to take Sick Time Off in accordance with statutory requirements with the understanding that sick days are solely for recuperating from an illness or injury.
Entitlement
You are entitled to take 60 days per anniversary year for any illness supported by a medical certificate in accordance with Statutory requirements.
Sick Pay
You are entitled to 60 working days of paid sick time off per calendar year, during sick leave you are entitled to the usual salary and benefits for the days taken as a sick leave.
Failure to timely provide documentary evidence of temporary disability (illness, accident, etc.), including submission of duly formalized medical certificate may result in the Employee not being paid sick leave.
Medical Evidence
For sick leave in excess of 5 days, a medical certificate will be required. All such certificates must be provided by a Qatar approved and licensed medical practitioner.
Scheduling Sick Time Off
You should notify your manager as soon as possible that you will not be coming to work due to illness or injury. Once you notified your manager of your sickness, record your time in Workday [VMware Network Access Required] under QA Sick (Short Term) Time Off. When absent due to illness, you must provide your manager and HR Source EMEA [VMware network access required] with a medical certificate if your illness last longer than within five (5) working days.
For prolonged illness you may be eligible for disability payments from the Disability Insurance Plan (link) subject to the terms and conditions of the policy.
