Long Term Disability Insurance

VMware provides Disability Insurance as part of the Life Insurance policy through a Regional Policy provided by Zurich UAE.

Eligibility

All permanent and fixed term contract employees (excluding external contractors) are eligible for Disability Insurance.

Benefits

You are eligible to receive Disability Insurance according to the following benefit table:

Benefits

Permanent Total Disability 100% of Sum Insured (own or similar occupation) up to a maximum of USD 1,500,000 and subject to a 12 month waiting period
Permanent Partial Disability As per the Continental Scale (percentage of sum insured) up to a maximum of USD 1,500,000 and subject to a 12 months waiting period
Temporary Total Disability 100% of your Annual On Target Earnings Salary with a maximum of USD 250,000 *

* Temporary Total Disability benefit is payable for 360 days (including waiting period), subject to waiting period of NIL for Accident and 7 days for Sickness.

Free Cover Limit

You automatically qualify for Disability Insurance up to USD 1,000,000.

Enrolment

  • You are automatically enrolled in the Disability Insurance and insured for amounts under the free cover limit listed above.
  • In order to qualify for insurance amounts exceeding the free cover limit you may need to undergo a medical examination.
  • The insurance company will contact you within your first month to provide you with details.

Contributions

VMware pays 100% of the premium costs for Disability Insurance.

When Coverage Begins

Coverage will begin on your first day of active work as a VMware employee.

When Coverage Ends

Coverage will end on the last day of your employment with VMware.
