Vacation Time Off provides you with paid time off from your job for personal reasons including rest, recreation, vacation.
VMware provides all employees twenty (20) days of Vacation Time Off per calendar year. If you do not work for a full calendar year, your Vacation Time Off will be pro-rated based on number of months in service ÷ 12 x 20. Vacation Time Off must be requested in advance in writing and approved prior to taking. For new hires & leavers, your first year and last year of entitlement will be prorated accordingly.
Vacation Time Off not used can be carried forward for a maximum of five (5) days until March 31st of the following calendar year. Exceeding credit will be cancelled without any payment or credit in other forms.
You may plan and utilize the Vacation Time Off entitlement at any time during the Calendar Year. However, in the event of termination, any earned but not taken leave will be cashed out on the basis of employee’s daily base salary and included in the team member’s final payment.
Scheduling Vacation Time Off
Discuss your Vacation Time Off plans, 5 days in advance, with your manager. If an absence is unexpected, you should notify your manager as soon as possible. While business requirements must be taken into consideration, your manager will work with you to ensure that workload does not restrict you from taking Vacation Time Off.
Once agreed with your manager, enter your Vacation Time Off in Workday  [VMware network access required] under time off type Vacation Time Off.
