Domestic Violence Time Off
VMware provides Domestic Violence Time Off in accordance with local regulation. The leave benefit is granted to enable the team member to attend to medical and legal concerns.
Entitlement
An employee who is a victim of domestic violence is entitled to ten (10) days of paid time off every year.
A victim of violence against women and their children who is employed is entitled to paid leaves of up to 10 days in addition to paid leaves under other laws, extendible when the necessity arises as specified in a protection order issued by an appropriate authority. The availment of the 10-day leave is at the option of the employee, and such leave shall cover the days that the employee needs to attend to medical and legal concerns. Unused leaves are not cumulative and not convertible to cash.
Carry Forward
All unused Domestic Violence Time Off entitlement during the Calendar Year cannot be carried forward to the following Calendar Year and shall be non-cumulative.
Cash Out
If the Domestic Violence Time Off is not availed of, this leave shall not be convertible to cash.
Scheduling Domestic Violence Time Off
- Discuss your Domestic Violence Time Off plans with your manager. While business requirements must be taken into consideration, your manager will work with you to ensure that workload does not restrict you from taking Domestic Violence Time Off.
- Once discussed with your manager, enter the relevant leave in Workday [VMware network access required].
- Where possible, please present a certification from the Punong Barangay/ kagawad or prosecutor or the Clerk of Court to HR Source [VMware network access required].
We recognize that the circumstances giving rise to the need for leave can be highly personal, at their discretion employees may inform their manager that they are availing this leave. Please note that privacy and confidentiality will be maintained to the fullest extent possible. and the employee’s management chain will only be advised of the need for leave at the employee’s request. However, any situations involving threats of physical harm at the workplace will be immediately escalated to VMware management.
