Enrolling in Benefits

You may enroll or change your benefits coverage with VMware based on the following categories:

  • Annual Enrollment
  • New Hires or Re-Hires
  • Qualified Life Event

Eligibility

If you are a regular full-time employee who works 40 or more scheduled hours per week, you are eligible to enroll in VMware benefit plans. Eligibility begins as of your hire date or the date your status changes. VMware offers benefit coverage for you and your dependents. Eligible dependents include:

  • If you are married: (1) Legitimated spouse under 65 years old; (2) Unmarried legitimate, legitimated, adopted children residing with the Principal member who are at least 15 days old up to 26 years old, not gainfully employed and have no children of their own.
  • If you are single: Parents under 65 years old OR domestic partner with 18 to 65 years old, including same sex partners.
  • If you are single parent (including widow/widower): (1) Unmarried legitimate, legitimated, adopted children residing with the Principal member who are at least 15 days old up to 26 years old, not gainfully employed and have no children of their own; (2) Domestic partner with 18 to 65 years old, including same sex partners.

Changing Coverage Mid-Year

A qualified life event allows you to enroll or make changes to your health and/or life insurance. A qualified life event may include:

If you experience a qualified life event, you have 60 calendar days from the date of the event to report it to HR Source [VMware network access required].
