VMware encourages a healthy working environment. When you aren’t feeling and it’s impacting your ability to work, Medical Leave, in accordance with statutory requirements, provides you with paid time off to rest and recuperate from an illness or injury.
VMware employees are entitled to take Medical Leave, in accordance with statutory requirements, when approved by the Peru Social Security Institution.
All Peru regular full-time employees who are employed directly by VMware.
As a VMware Peru employee, you are entitled to sick leave long-term (leave of absence). For sick leave, please refer to the Time Off webpageWhenever possible, you are requested to schedule medical examinations outside of working hours. If you become ill at work and feel too unwell to continue working, you should inform your manager.
Salary Payment and Benefits
If you are on an approved sick leave long-term, you will be paid as follows:
- From day 1 to day 20 of medical leave, VMware will pay your salary
- From day 21st onwards: EsSalud will continue to pay up until 11 months and 10 days of leave
Scheduling Medical Leave
- Inform your manager and HR Source[VMware network access required] of your sick leave long-term as soon as reasonably possible. This will allow adequate time for the proper arrangements.
- Open an HR Source ticket[VMware network access required] to report your Sick Leave long-Term. Include your leave’s start and end date along with the corresponding medical certificate to guarantee your payments during your leave.
Returning to Work
Once you return to work, open an HR Source ticket [VMware network access required] confirming your leave end date and return to work date.
