Maternity Leave

VMware supports employees and their families in one of the most important times in life – the birth of a child. Maternity Leave allows mothers to take time off in accordance with statutory requirements so that you can take the necessary time off work to recover and bond with your new baby.

Effective March 1, 2022, VMware Maternity Leave falls within the Global Paid Parental Leave policy. All active employees whose child is born on or after March 1st, 2022 are eligible for the leave entitlements detailed below.  If your child was born prior to March 1st, 2022, please note that the previous leave policy applies. To understand your entitlements under the previous leave policy please review the relevant policy on VMware Source.

Eligibility

Maternity benefits are available to VMware Peru employees who are active with the company.

Entitlement

You are entitled to your full salary for eighteen (18) weeks equivalent to 126 days.  The first 90 days are paid as per statutory requirements,
49 days before birth and 49 days after birth. In the event of the birth of a child with a disability, or multiple births, leave will be extended for an additional period of 30 days

Scheduling Maternity or Adoption Leave

  • Inform your manager and HR Source [VMware network access required] of your pregnancy and your maternity leave plans as soon as reasonably possible. This will allow adequate time for the proper arrangements to be made prior to your leave period.
  • Open an HR Source ticket [VMware network access required] to report your Maternity Leave. Include your leave’s start and end date along with the corresponding medical certificate to guarantee your payments during your leave.

Returning to Work

Once you return to work, open an HR Source ticket [VMware network access required] confirming your leave end date and return to work date.

For additional support and resources to consider with the addition of a child to your family, see the Birth or Adoption page.
