At VMware we encourage a healthy work environment. You are entitled to take Sick Leave in accordance with statutory requirements with the understanding that sick days are solely for recuperating from an illness or injury.
You are entitled to two (2) years of paid sick leave. You will receive a monthly income replacement benefit up to 100% of your base salary for the first year and 70% of your base salary for the second year. See Short Term Disability for more information.
Scheduling Sick Leave
All Sick Leaves planned or unplanned, must be discussed with your manager. If an absence is unexpected, you should notify your manager as soon as possible.
Returning to Work
- Contact your manager to confirm your return to work date.
- Record your Sick Leave days in Workday [VMware network access required]. You may record your leave in blocks of 8 hours (1 day) or 4 hours (half day).
