Looking after your mental health
The struggles of everyday life can have a big impact on your overall wellbeing.
Within VMware, we pride ourselves on our EPIC2  values that help share what we do, how we work and treat one another. VMware adopts those values to ensure all employees feel included and can get the support needed for their wellbeing.
That’s why we created our Mental Health First Aid team*.
We have over 50 Mental Health First Aiders that are based in the UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark who have all attended a two-day Mental Health First Aid course and are accredited in their field through MHFA England .
How we provide support
- Act as a point of contact and reassurance to employees who are experiencing any mental health or emotional stress and are unsure where to go for help
- Can be that first initial contact in guiding you through the programmes we have in place and the best way to get professional support
- Maintain absolute confidentiality of any discussions with employees who approach them for assistance
Your conversations with a First Aider may be a quick chat or an in-depth meeting including, but not limited to:
- Relationship problems and divorce
- Anxiety and stress
- Work related issues with colleagues or managers, or job security concerns
- Health issues whether physical or mental
- Someone close to you passing away and managing grief
- Problems experienced by your children e.g. exam stress, eating disorders
Accessing Mental Health First Aid Support

* Please note, our volunteers are not taught to diagnose mental health conditions. The accredited training, they are given raises awareness of a wide range of potential signs of mental ill healthand gives them strategies and skills to offer initial support.
