VMware provides Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Disablement Insurance to all regular employees.

Life Insurance Benefits

VMware provides Life Insurance through the Retirement plan with Nationale-Nederlanden.

Eligibility

All regular employees of VMware between the ages of 21 and 68 years of age are eligible to participate in the Life Insurance Plan with Nationale-Nederlanden.

Benefits

If you should die while in the service of VMware due to illness or injury your beneficiaries will receive an insured lifetime annuity based on the formula:

*The pension base is the annual salary (capped at € 107,593.00 until 1 August 2020 and thereafter € 110,111.00) minus the statutory offset (€ 20,852.00 until 1 August 2020, annually adjusted on 1st August).

Accidental Death and Dismemberment

VMware provides Accidental Death and Disablement (AD&D) Insurance through W.A. Hienfeld Assuradeuren B.V.

Eligibility

All regular full and part time employees of VMware Netherlands up to age 70 are eligible for Accidental Death and Disablement (AD&D) Insurance.

Benefits

Covered Event Benefit
Death due to an accident Your beneficiaries will receive a lump sum payment of two (2) times your annual reference salary*
Permanent Disability due to an accident You and/or your beneficiaries will receive a lump sum payment of four (4) times your annual reference salary*
Other reimbursements You will receive a reimbursement for personal belongings, hospitalization benefit, psychological aid and extra sum insured in case of paraplegia or quadriplegia, all in relation to a covered event (accident).

* Annual reference salary = the salary that is taxable for wage tax purposes in the calendar year prior to the year in which the accident occurred.

 

Contributions 

VMware pays 100% of the premium costs for the Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Disablement insurance.

Iyou opt in for insuring the ANW-Gap pension and/or the Extra Survivor’s pension (ESP), these premiums will be fully paid for by you. The risk premiums are deducted from your gross monthly salary (tax advantage).

When Coverage Begins 

Coverage will begin on your first day of active work as a VMware employee. 

When Coverage Ends 

Coverage will end on the last day of your employment with VMware.
