VMware will provide the same Maternity Leave  and Paternity Leave  benefits to employees who legally adopt a child who is less than twelve (12) months of age. If the child is more than twelve (12) months old, VMware will provide 4 weeks of paid Adoption Leave.
Scheduling Adoption Leave
- Adoption Leave must be discussed with your immediate manager in advance, so that proper arrangements can be made. You must inform both your manager and HR Source  [VMware network access required] of how and when you would like to utilize your Adoption Leave.
- After your manager has been notified, send Adoption Leave dates along with managers approval email by contacting HR Source  [VMware network access required] to have it recorded.
Returning to Work
While on Adoption Leave you should maintain open communication with your manager and HR Source  [VMware network access required]. VMware will assume that you wish to return to work at the end of your Adoption Leave period however; you should contact HR Source  [VMware network access required] towards the end of your scheduled Adoption Leave to confirm and arrange your return to work.
