Vacation allows you time away from work to relax, travel and enjoy time with family. If your absence is due to an illness or injury, you should refer to the Medical Leave or Sick Time pages.


You will be entitled to vacation time based on your tenure with the company, following this schedule:

Vacation Accrual

Year 1 – 2 15 Days
Year 3 16 Days
Year 4 18 Days
Year 5 20 Days
Years 6 to 10 22 Days
Years 11 to 15 24 Days
Years 16 to 20 26 Days
Years 21 to 25 28 Days
Years 26 to 30 30 Days
Years 31 to 35 32 Days

Carry Forward

Vacation Accrual must be taken within eighteen (18) months and may no be carried forward further.

Vacation Premium

VMware will pay 100% of eligible vacation days as a one-time bonus during your anniversary month.

Scheduling Vacation Time

  • Discuss your Vacation plans with your manager, in advance. While business requirements must be taken into consideration, your manager will work with you to ensure that work load does not restrict you from taking Vacation time.
  • Once agreed with your manager, enter your Vacation time in Workday [VMware network access required].
