For those times when you need to be absent from work for medical reasons, VMware employees are entitled to take Medical Leave, in accordance with statutory requirements, when approved by the Mexican Social Security Institution (Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social – IMSS).
All regular full-time and part-time VMware Mexico employees.
If you are on an approved IMSS Medical Leave, you will receive the following:
- Up to the first three (3) days of leave: VMware will pay each day at 100% of your base salary
- From the 4th day onwards: IMSS will pay each day at 60% of your base salary, with no additional contribution from VMware
Scheduling Medical Leave
You must provide the IMSS certification to ensure your Medical Leave is appropriately captured and paid. To do this, please send a copy of your Medical Leave certification to Payroll, Mexico Benefits and your direct manager.
