VMware supports employees and their families in one of the most important times in life – the birth of a child. Maternity Leave allows mothers to take time off in accordance with statutory requirements so that you can take the necessary time away from work to recover and to bond with your new baby.
All female Mexico employees are eligible for Maternity Leave.
If you become pregnant, you have the right to paid Maternity Leave, six (6) weeks prior and six (6) weeks after your due date, in accordance with your physician’s orders. If you adopt a baby you are eligible for twelve (12) weeks of leave.
Scheduling Maternity Leave
Inform your manager of your pregnancy and your Maternity Leave plans as soon as reasonably possible. This will allow adequate time for the proper arrangements to be made prior to your leave period.
Open an HR Source ticket [VMware network access required] confirming including the IMMS certification, your leave start and end date to guarantee your payments during your leave.
Employees with a child in the breastfeeding period may request two daily work breaks of a half hour duration. The breastfeeding period applies up to six (6) months after returning to work. Employees can reduce the work shift by one (1) hour, in lieu of the two (2) breaks.
Returning to Work
Once you return to work, open an HR Source ticket [VMware network access required] confirming your leave end date return to work date.
