Parental Leave

VMware provides Parental Leave in accordance with statutory requirements which enables the parents of a young child to take a break from their professional career or reduce their working time in order to devote themselves more fully to the education of their child.

To be eligible for Parental Leave you must be the mother or father of a child and be eligible for maternity, paternity or adoption leave. Subject to meeting the necessary eligibility requirements, one parent must take the first parental leave immediately following the maternity or adoption leave otherwise it will be forfeited without compensation. The second parent may take it at any time up to the child’s 6th birthday or the 12th birthday in the case of adopted children.

Parental Leave is fully granted once for each child.

During parental leave subject to meeting the necessary eligibility requirements the parent is entitled to an allowance which replaces the salary and is calculated and granted by the Children’s Future Fund (Caisse pour l’avenir des enfants – CAE)
