Long Term Disability Insurance

VMware provides Long Term Disability Insurance through La Luxembourgeoise Insurance for all regular employees and fixed term contract employees on payroll. Self-employed and agency workers are excluded.

Benefits

In the event that you become disabled and unable to work you will receive a disability pension of 25% of your pensionable earnings up to the social security ceiling (SSC) and 75% of pensionable earnings thereafter. Pensionable earnings = Gross Annual Remuneration i.e. 12 times the monthly gross remuneration for January and the commissions earned during the calendar year preceding the renewal date.

Waiting periods

If you are temporarily disabled then the waiting period before the benefits payment starts = 12 months. If you are totally and permanently disabled the waiting period = 3 months

When Coverage Begins

You will be automatically enrolled into the Long Term Disability Insurance plan from your first date of employment.

Coverage will begin on your first day of active work as a VMware employee.

Contributions

VMware pays 100% of the premium cost for the Long Term Disability Insurance.

When Coverage Ends

Coverage will end on the last day of your employment with VMware.
