VMware offers health insurance via Dongbu Insurance.

Eligibility

All regular, active, full-time employees up to retirement age are eligible to participate. Coverage is effective as of your date of hire. If you wish to enroll dependents in the Healthcare Plan, you must do so within 30 days of your date of hire by logging into MyLife [VMware network access required]. Eligible dependents include:

  • Your legal spouse
  • Your unmarried dependent child(ren)
  • Your dependent parents and parents in-laws

Parents / Parents in-law coverage is limited to Hospitalization and Accidental Outpatient coverage.

Benefits

Medical Benefits

Benefits Limit
Hospitalization 90% reimbursement of actual expenses
Nursing care 50,000 KRW per day up to 365 days per case
Outpatient Up to 300,000 KRW per case after deductible

Dental Benefits

Benefits Limit
Prosthetics 500,000 KRW / 1 tooth
Preservations 100,000 KRW / 3 teeth

Cancer Diagnosis

Benefits Limit
First diagnosis for Thyroid Carcinoma, borderline tumor, Carcinoma In situ, and skin cancer Lump sum of 4,000,000 KRW
For all other cancer first instance diagnosis Lump sum of 20,000,000 KRW

Critical illness

  • Lump sum of 20,000,000 KRW if you or your spouse receive a first diagnosis of 2 major diseases (cerebrovascular or ischemic heart disease (IHD)  (1 time each)

Contributions

VMware pays 100% of the premium costs for you and your eligible dependents

Coverage Begins

Coverage begins on the first day of your employment at VMware and coverage for your dependents begins once you enroll your dependents in the MyLife [VMware network access required]. You must enroll within 30 days of your date of hire.

Coverage Ends

Coverage for you and your dependents ends on the last day of your employment with VMware.
