Maternity Leave

VMware provides Maternity Leave in accordance with statutory requirements so that you can take the necessary time off work to recover and to bond after the birth [1] of your child.

Supplemental benefits are provided through the ITS Health Insurance Association [2] (HIA) scheme.


If you are a pregnant female employee, Maternity Leave shall be granted for the following periods:

In the event of miscarriage/loss of pregnancy, employee may avail local miscarriage leave or global bereavement leave [3] and not both.


The HIA [2] provides employees on Maternity Leave with a maternity allowance in which 2/3 of the daily standard remuneration, for forty-two (42) days before (ninety-eight (98) days for expected multiple births) and fifty-six (56) days after the expected date of childbirth. If an employee receives wages, benefits are suspended or partially reduced.

Returning to Work

If you requests to return to work after forty-two (42) days from the date of childbirth, you may be assigned to a job that a doctor deems to be unharmful to you. You should contact HR Source [4] [VMware network access requiredtowards the end of leave to confirm and arrange your return to work.
