Blood Donation Leave

VMware provides time off for donating blood in accordance with Italian law.

Entitlement 

You are entitled to a rest period, off work, for the entire day (8 hours) on which you donate blood. 

There is no limitation to the number of paid Blood Donation Leave days, however, Italian law defines the maximum number of donations per year and the minimum interval between donations of blood and/or blood components. Men and women not in reproductive age can donate blood no more than four (4) times per year, while women in reproductive age no more than two (2) times per year. 

A period of at least ninety (90) days must pass between each blood donation (whole blood). 

Scheduling Blood Donation Leave 

• Discuss your Blood Donation Leave plans in advance with your manager. While business requirements must be taken into consideration, your manager will work with you to ensure that work load does not restrict you from taking Blood Donation Leave. 
• Once agreed with your manager, enter your Blood Donation Leave time off in Workday [VMware network access required] under time off type Miscellaneous Medical/Health Time Off (Hours). Your leave should be recorded in blocks of 8 hours (1 day).
