VMware encourages a healthy work environment. You are entitled to take Sick Leave in accordance with statutory requirements with the understanding that sick days are solely for the purpose of recuperating from an illness or injury.
When you are sick you must stay home and work from there when possible. No salary adjustments are made for Sick Leave. You are also entitled to the following, subject to applicable law:
- Eight (8) days of Sick Leave for the illness of a child under the age of sixteen (16), a single parent is entitled to twelve (12) days
- Six (6) days for the illness of a parent or parent in–law who is at least sixty-five (65) years old
- Six (6) days of Sick Leave to care for your spouse
- Seven (7) days of your Sick Leave entitlement in respect of the treatment or examination of your spouse relating to a pregnancy or childbirth.
Scheduling Sick Leave
All Sick Leave planned or unplanned, must be discussed with your manager, then notify HR Source [VMware network access required] and complete your hours report sheet in Propertime. If an absence is unexpected, you should notify your manager and HR Source [VMware network access required] as soon as reasonably possible. Doctor’s approval is required for longer Sick Leave.
