Annual Leave provides you with paid time off from your job for personal reasons including: vacation, outside activities, scheduled medical appointments, and personal business. If your absence is due to an illness or injury, you should refer to the Sick Leave page.
The number of Annual Leave days you receive per calendar year is negotiated as part of your compensation package when joining VMware. There is no Company standard. The amount of Annual Leave varies from fourteen (14) to twenty-three (23) paid days per calendar year.
VMware allows the carry forward of unused Annual Leave. You can carry forward up to two (2) years’ equivalent of Annual Leave days.
VMware only permits the cashing out of unused Annual Leave when you resign or cease to be employed for any reason (e.g. due to disability etc), at which time the full accumulated/outstanding leave entitlement is paid out.
Scheduling Annual Leave
- Discuss your Annual Leave plans, in advance, with your manager and complete your hours report sheet in Propertime. While business requirements must be taken into consideration, your manager will work with you to ensure that work load does not restrict you from taking Annual Leave.
