Short Term Disability
No supplemental Short Term Disability (STD) Insurance is provided as Short Term Disability (STD) benefits are provided through the Social Security system. Insured pension policies provide optional disability cover.
All workers who have been employed for at least 12 months are eligible for Short Term Disability benefits. Short Term Disability (STD) benefits will be payable once you have presented a medical certificate from a hospital or a doctor or a family doctor.
If you should become disabled, you will receive a monthly income replacement benefit according to the following schedule:
|Days||Percentage of Employee’s Standard Wage/Salary (Monthly Salary)|
|Days 2 and 3||37.5%|
|Days 4 to 90||75%|
