Waiting Periods & Pre-Existing Conditions

Enrolment

If you wish to enrol in the Healthcare Plan, you can do so from your date of hire by making this selection in MyLife [VMware network access required].

Contributions

VMware pays 100% of the premium costs for the VHI Company Plan PMI 1811 for you and your eligible dependents. Please note that you are liable for any tax associated with this benefit. You may choose to upgrade your cover (to Company Plan Extra L2 or another VHI plan), however please note that you are liable for any additional cost associated with this upgrade and Vhi Healthcare will invoice you directly for the difference. VMware shall not pay for any loading, excesses or additional premium imposed (such as Lifetime Community Rating) as a result of any special circumstances or conditions of or affecting any such persons. Please note if you are over 35 and enrol in the plan without previous healthcare coverage in Ireland you will be required to pay an additional levy known as the Lifetime Community Rating Charge direct to VHI Healthcare. The levy is 2% of the premium multiplied by each year in age over 35 for a maximum of 10 years.

Coverage Begins

Coverage for you and your dependents under the Healthcare plan will begin on your first day of active work as a VMware employee or from the month that you select it.

Policy Duration and Cancellation

Once enroled, the policy will last for one year in line with all 12-month insurance contract rules unless Vhi Healthcare agree to a shorter period. The policy start and end dates are shown on the employee’s policy document. Employees can cancel their policy within 14 days of receipt of their Membership Certificate or in the event of a policy renewal, within 14 days of the renewal date.

While MyLife [VMware network access required] will allow employees to deselect the benefit at anytime, employees must discuss the cancellation with Vhi Healthcare beforehand either through their Concierge Helpline 056 777 5800 or by emailing info@vhi.ie. The policy will remain current until Vhi confirm the cancellation reason and the employee then deselects the benefit through the MyLife [VMware network access required].

Coverage Ends

Coverage for you and your dependents under the VMware Healthcare plan will end on the last day of your employment with VMware.
