Annual leave allows an employee to be paid while having time off from work for personal reasons including:
- Vacation used for rest,recreation, or travel.
- Taking time out for loved ones
Note: Annual Leave is not intended for use when absence is due to a medical sickness/disability (refer sick leave).
Regular full-time employees who have performed work for 12 (twelve) months shall be entitled an annual leave of 20 (twenty) working days. Annual leave provided in excess of statutory entitlement will be subject to VMware’s Leave Policy.
Annual Leave is pro-rated for newly hired full-time employees as per the table below. If an Employee starts before (including) the 15th of the calendar month, that month will be taken as a full month for computation of pro-rated leave. If an Employee who joins after the 15th, that calendar month will not be taken into account for pro-rated leave computation.

All Annual leave balances of the current year must be taken during the same year. Under special circumstances and with prior approval from the manager, an Employee is allowed to carry forward up to maximum 5 days, which must be utilized before 31 March of the following year. In case there is any carried forward leave, the Employee shall use the statutory annual leave first before the carried forward annual leave.
Cashing out of an employee’s annual leave balance is not permitted, except at the time that an employee resigns or ceases to be employed for any reason. Under these circumstances, the full accumulated/ outstanding leave entitlement will be paid.
