Maternity Leave

VMware supports employees and their families in one of the most important times in life – the birth or adoption of a child. Maternity Leave allows mothers to take time off in accordance with statutory requirements so that you can take the necessary time off work to recover and to bond with your baby.

Eligibility

All Regular full-time female employees are entitled to maternity leave for a period of not less than three (3) months. The period of maternity leave may commence any time within one and a half (1 ½ ) month before the due date of the birth of the baby and one and a half (1 ½ )  after the delivery, or three (3) months) in total.  The commencement date of maternity leave should not be later than the day immediately following confinement.

Employee will be entitled to one and a half (1 ½) months of leave in case of miscarriage.

Employees on Maternity leave will continue to be eligible for benefits and will continue to accrue annual leave. Corporate Bonus and/or commission may be pro-rated during Maternity Leave.

Maternity leave is available to eligible Indonesia-based employees regardless of nationality or marital status.

Scheduling Maternity Leave

Maternity leave planned, must be discussed with your manager no later than the sixth month of pregnancy, you must inform both your immediate Manager and Human Resources Representative in writing, how and when you would like to utilize maternity leave entitlement along with a medical certificate confirming the pregnancy.

The employee can change the date of which she would like to start maternity leave, however this change of date must be informed in writing. This is to also facilitate her Manager to plan for a temporary hiring (if required).

After your manager has been notified, please contact HR Source [1]  [VMware network access required] to record the exact days of your Leave as per the below format. Be sure to include your manager on the email along with your leave dates requested.

Returning to Work after Maternity Leave

While on Maternity Leave you should maintain open communication with your manager and Human Resources Representative. VMware will assume that you wish to return to work at the end of your Maternity Leave period. However, you should contact your Human Resources Representative towards the end of your scheduled Maternity Leave to confirm and arrange your return to work.
