Sick Time Off
At VMware we encourage a healthy work environment. You are entitled to take Sick Time Off in accordance with statutory requirements with the understanding that sick days are solely for recuperating from an illness or injury.
Entitlement
Days sick in any calendar year | Compensation | ||

Up to 3 days short term sick time off | Full regular salary paid by the Company. Employee can self-certify | ||
From the 4th day of sickness to 25th inclusive | If there is a difference between your base pay and sickness payment by Greek social security, the Company will top up the social security sick payment up to base pay until the 25th day of sickness. | ||
From 26th day of sickness absence onwards | From 26 days onwards, the employee is paid only from the Greek Social Security Fund. |
Medical Evidence
For sick leave in excess of 3 days, a medical certificate will be required. Failure to timely provide documentary evidence of temporary disability (illness, accident, etc.), including submission of duly formalized medical certificate may result in the Employee not being paid sick leave.
Scheduling Sick Time Off
When absent due to illness, you must provide your manager or HR Source [VMware network access required] a medical certificate if your illness last longer than three (3) working days.
Upon your return to work, enter your Sick time off in Workday under Greece Sick (Short Term) Time Off.
