Jury Service

VMware encourages you to fulfill your civic responsibilities by serving on a jury.

Entitlement

If you receive a summons for Jury Service, you are entitled to a leave with pay. VMware will pay basic pay to you while on jury service less any amounts you can claim from the court for lost earnings for up to ten (10) working days. The court will provide you with a form asking for a Certificate of Loss of Earnings. You will need to provide this form to HR Source [VMware network access required].

Scheduling Jury Service

• Notify your manager as soon as you receive a jury summons; not the day you are to begin Jury Service. Your manager may request a copy of the jury summons.
• If your absence will seriously affect your department, VMware may request that you apply to be excused or defer your Jury Service.
• Enter your Jury Service time off in Workday [VMware network access required] under time off type Civic/Jury/Court Time Off (Hours).
