Birth or Adoption

Congratulations! This is an exciting and rewarding time for you, here is a checklist of the benefit changes you might want to consider and resources that VMware provides.
Benefits Changes
Changes and elections for most of the VMware benefit plans are made at annual enrollment; however, birth or adoption is considered a qualified life event. You can make the following changes within 40 days of the date of the qualified life event.
- Add your child to your Medical and Dental plans via MyLife [VMware network access required].
- Update beneficiary information with your Life Insurance plan via MyLife [VMware network access required].
If you do not make benefit changes within 40 days of the birth or adoption of your child, your next opportunity to modify benefits is Open Enrollment on 1 April.
Time Away
Planning time away from work to care for and bond with your child is an important consideration. There are a number of leave options available to you, be sure to review the details for eligibility requirements:
