Long Term Disability
VMware provides Long Term Disability Insurance for all regular employees.
Definition of Disablement
Disability is defined as an accident or sickness which results in a continuous absence of 13 weeks or more, however, you must firstly meet the criteria set by the insurer.
In the event that you should become disabled, you will receive a benefit of 75% of base salary. Benefits in payment are indexed at a rate of 3% per year.
Free Cover Limit
- You automatically qualify for Long Term Disability Insurance up to £ 150,000.
- In order to qualify for insurance amounts exceeding the free cover limit medical underwriting will be required.
- This will in the first instance require you to complete a Medical History Statement (or telephone underwriting interview) and may entail the insurer writing to your General Practitioner, and requiring you to attend a medical examination (at the insurer’s expense).
You are automatically enrolled in the Long Term Disability Insurance and insured for the amounts under the free cover limit listed above.
VMware pays 100% of the premium costs for the Long Term Disability Insurance.
