VMware provides Parental Leave in accordance with statutory requirements so that you can take the necessary time off work to take care of your child.
To be eligible for Parental Leave you must be the mother or father of a child under the age of three (3) years and have responsibility for the child’s upbringing and have completed one (1) year of service at VMware.
VMware provides one (1) year maximum of unpaid Parental Leave, which may be renewed twice up to a maximum of three (3) years. Parental Leave can be taken either in the form of unpaid leave or as part-time leave and must be taken before your child reaches the age of three (3) years.
Scheduling Parental Leave
You should inform your manager and HR Source [VMware network access required] of your plans as soon as reasonably possible, so that proper arrangements can be made prior to your leave period.
Returning to Work
While on Parental Leave you should maintain open communication with your manager and HR Source [VMware network access required]. VMware will assume that you wish to return to work at the end of your Parental Leave period however; you should contact HR Source [VMware network access required] towards the end of your scheduled Parental Leave to confirm and arrange your return to work.
