VMware provides Maternity Leave in accordance with statutory requirements so that you can take the necessary time off work to recover and to bond with your new baby.
All regular, female employees of VMware who are pregnant or have recently given birth are eligible for Maternity Leave. You may be eligible for other leaves in addition to Maternity Leave. Review the Parental Leave page for more information.
VMware provides paid leave for mothers consisting of six (6) weeks before and ten (10) weeks after the birth of your child. For working women with more than two dependent children, these entitlements are increased to eight (8) weeks before and eighteen (18) weeks after birth.
If you are having twins, the leave is twelve (12) weeks before and twenty-two (22) weeks after the birth of your children. And if you are having triplets or more children this increases to twenty-four (24) weeks before and twenty-two (22) weeks after the birth of your children.
In the event of complications, two (2) additional weeks before birth may be granted.
During Maternity Leave you are entitled to social security allowances. VMware completes these allowances.
Scheduling Maternity Leave
You should inform your manager and HR Source [VMware network access required] of your pregnancy as soon as reasonably possible, so that proper arrangements can be made prior to your leave period.
Returning to Work after Maternity Leave
While on Maternity Leave you should maintain open communication with your manager and HR Source [VMware network access required]. VMware will assume that you wish to return to work at the end of your Maternity Leave period however; you should contact HR Source [VMware network access required] towards the end of your scheduled Maternity Leave to confirm and arrange your return to work.
