VMware provides Childcare Leave in accordance with statutory requirements so that you can take the necessary time off work to take care for your child.
To be eligible for Childcare Leave you must be the mother or father of a child under the age of 3 (or in the case of adoption under school age). Childcare leave can be taken by either the father or the month once the parental leave period is over, subject to you having been employed by VMware for at least 6 months during the past year.
The leave is unpaid and can be taken at least one month at a time unless otherwise agreed between VMware and you.
It is possible to take at maximum 2 periods of child-care leave, which are at minimum one month, unless otherwise agreed with your manager. Childcare leave can be taken one parent at a time. However, during the maternity or parental leave the other parent may take one period of child-care leave.
Scheduling Childcare Leave
You should inform your manager and HR Source of your Childcare Leave as soon as reasonably possible, so that proper arrangements can be made prior to your leave period.
