VMware supports employees and their families in one of the most important times in life, the adoption of a child. Adoption Leave allows you to take time off to bond with your new child.
All active employees of VMware are eligible upon your date of hire (excluding external contractors). There is no minimum period of Company service required.
If you are an adopting mother or father (in accordance with the relevant legislation), you are entitled to the same benefits as a biological mother or father.
You are entitled to 105 working days of adoption leave which is extended by 60 working days for each additional child adopted.
Scheduling Adoption Leave
You should inform your manager and HR Source of your Adoption Leave as soon as reasonably possible, so that proper arrangements can be made prior to your leave period. While business requirements must be taken into consideration your manager will work with you to ensure that workload does not unreasonably restrict you from taking Adoption Leave
