Total and Permanent Disability
Total and Permanent Disability for one’s habitual profession means an irreversible physical condition caused by an illness or accident, due to a cause independent of the insured party’s will, which makes her/him unfit for her/his habitual profession or a similar activity appropriate to her/his training and professional knowledge.
Absolute and Permanent Disability
Absolute and permanent disability for one’s habitual profession means an irreversible physical condition caused by an illness or accident, due to a cause independent of the insured party’s will, which makes her/him unfit for any profession.
VMware provides Permanent Disability Insurance for all regular employees. Short Term Disability is provided through Social Insurance.
If you become totally and permanently disabled while in the service of VMware due to illness or injury you will receive a lump sum payment of € 100.000. If you are absolutely and permanently disabled while in the service of VMware you will receive a lump sum of 2 times annual salary. If the absolute and permanent disablement is due to an accident you will receive an additional 2 times annual salary.
Free Cover Limit
You automatically qualify for insurance up to € 500,000.
- You are automatically enrolled in the Disability Insurance and insured for amounts under the free cover limit listed above.
- In order to qualify for insurance amounts exceeding the free cover limit you may need to undergo a medical examination. If this is the case you will be contacted directly to arrange this.
VMware pays 100% of the premium costs for the Disability Insurance.
When Coverage Begins
Coverage will begin on your first day of active work as a VMware employee.
When Coverage Ends
Coverage will end on the last day of your employment with VMware.
