Personal Days

As a VMware employee, you will be provided with paid time to be used for additional vacation, outside activities, scheduled medical appointments, and/or personal business.

Entitlement

You will be granted Personal Days based on years of service with VMware according to the following schedule:

Effective from August 1st, the entitlement for employees will change as listed in the chart below. Going forward, Personal Days will reset each calendar year and expire on December 31st of each calendar year.

Effective January 1st, 2022, the entitlement for all employees will change as listed in the chart below:

Important Note:

Employees who have reached 4 or five 5 years of service by December 31, 2021, the entitlement of 6 or 8 days respectively, will continue to be honored.
Employees who reach 4 or more years of service on, or subsequent to, January 1st, 2022, and thereafter, the entitlement will be of 5 Personal Days per calendar year, as listed in the above chart.

Carry Forward

Personal Days must be taken within 12 months from the date they are granted. They are not interchangeable, transferable, cumulative, and cannot be cashed out. If you are terminated before the day off is taken, it will be lost.

Scheduling Personal Days

Discuss with your manager your personal leave plans as soon as reasonably possible. This will allow adequate time for the proper arrangements to be made prior to your leave period.
Once agreed and approved by your manager, enter your Personal Days in Workday [VMware network access required] under time off type CR Personal Time Off (8 Hours).
