Congratulations! VMware knows that getting married is a very exciting time and provides Marriage Leave, in accordance with statutory requirements, so you can have some additional time to enjoy your wedding.
VMware provides twelve (12) paid calendar days of Marriage Leave to be taken within three (3) months of registration or within one (1) month of your ceremony. Your registration date must be within your employment with VMware.
Any Marriage Leave balance not utilized cannot be carried forward to the following calendar year. A copy of the marriage certificate is required prior to the leave commencement date.
Scheduling Marriage Leave
- Discuss your plans with your manager. While business requirements must be taken into consideration, your manager will work with you to ensure that work load does not restrict you from taking Marriage Leave.
- Enter your Marriage Leave time in Workday [VMware network access required] under Marriage Time Off. After manager approval, go into Workday [VMware network access required] to report your Marriage Leave time. Workday [VMware network access required] will display leave time in an hourly basis. You may record your leave in blocks of 8 hours (1 day) or 4 hours (half day).
