VMware recognizes the importance and value of its employees’ family lives and seeks to provide a family-friendly environment that is supportive of working parents. VMware provides Childcare Time Off in accordance with statutory requirements so you can have the necessary time off work to bond with your child.
Eligibility and Entitlement
All VMware China employees (regular full time and part time), who are biological parents of the child are entitle to Childcare Time Off. The detailed eligibility and entitlement are different city by city. Employee should follow the guidance of social insurance contribution location.
Beijing & Shanghai: 5 working days per year up to 3 years old of the child. The Childcare Time Off can be taken by the day.
Guangzhou: 10 working days per year up to 3 years old of the child. The Childcare Time Off can be taken by the day.

Unused Child Time Off cannot be carried forward to next year. Childcare Time Off accrued is not paid out upon termination of employment.
Your base salary will be paid at 100%. Incentives will be paid according to achievement with respect to relevant incentive guidelines.
Scheduling Childcare Time Off
- Discuss your Childcare Time Off plans, in advance, with your manager. While business requirements must be taken into consideration, your manager will work with you to ensure that workload does not restrict you from taking Childcare Time Off.
Once agreed with your manager, enter your Childcare Time Off in Workday [VMware network access required] under time off type Childcare Time Off.
