VMware does not provide supplemental health insurance. The law on health insurance requires all residents of Switzerland to purchase a minimum package of medical insurance coverage from a regulated Swiss medical insurer.
Benefits
As per statutory requirements, you need to purchase basic coverage which includes:
- Hospitalization in public ward
- Medical treatment
- Prescription drugs
- Out-of-country coverage
- Maternity benefits up to certain limits
Contributions
You are responsible the full cost of your basic health insurance, however, VMware will pay CHF 300 per month to help off-set the cost of healthcare. Contributions start on your first day of employment and end on your last day of employment with VMware.
