Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP), managed by OPTUM, is available at no charge to you and helps VMware employees be at their best, physically and emotionally. OPTUM confidentially provides you and your family members, with objective, third-party support and advice for navigating life’s challenges.
Through OPTUM you can access professional counselling to help cope with a wide range of life’s difficult issues, including but not limited to:
- Alcohol and Drug Dependency
- Childcare & Eldercare
- Emotional Problems
- Family & Marital Problems
- Financial and Credit Concerns
- Interpersonal Conflicts
- Legal Issues and Questions
- Situational Life Problems
No problem is too small to become a big problem when not addressed. You are encouraged to access OPTUM whenever you feel it will help to ease your stress.
Accessing the Employee Assistance Program
You and your family members can access OPTUM via the web or telephone from anywhere, to arrange free face-to-face or telephone counselling in local language or English. Family members living in the same household can access OPTUM independently of you, if they like.
You and your dependents are eligible for up to six (6) no-cost, confidential counselling sessions per problem, per year. Depending on your situation, you may be referred to other providers for further counselling or assistance after your OPTUM counselling sessions have been exhausted. If you choose to use additional services, you will be responsible for any expenses incurred.
VMware and OPTUM are committed to protecting your personal privacy. OPTUM will not share information about your counselling with anyone. Your information can be shared only if you give your written permission. VMware will not know who has used the service.
OPTUM is available 24 hours a day / 7 days a week, so that they are available when you need them most.
