Medical Leave Entitlement

In accordance with statutory requirements, on the 16th day of a disability, you may be eligible for benefits through Social Security (INSS). During this time, if you have been with VMware for more than 1 year, you will be entitled to a pay-out from VMware equal to 70% of the difference between your current salary and the monetary benefit being paid by Social Security (INSS). The pay-out is subject to the following conditions:

Salary Payment during Medical Leave

If you have completed one (1) year of service with VMware, you will be entitled to a complementary pay out from VMware equal to 70% of the difference between your current salary and the monetary benefit being paid by the Social Security.

Scheduling Medical Leave

All Medical Leave, planned or unplanned, must be discussed with your manager. If an absence is unexpected, you should notify your manager as soon as reasonably possible.

Open an HR Source ticket [3] [VMware network access required] to report your Medical Leave. Include your leave’s start and end date along with the medical certificate to guarantee your corresponding payments during your leave.

Returning to Work

Once you return to work, open an HR Source ticket [3] [VMware network access required] confirming your leave end date and return to work date.
