VMware is dedicated to work-life balance and offers a family-friendly environment that is supportive of working parents. VMware provides unpaid Foster Parent Leave in accordance with statutory requirements.
All regular employees who have been appointed foster parents are eligible for Foster Parent Leave from the first day of service at VMware.
If you have been appointed as a foster parent, you are entitled to six (6) days of unpaid leave per calendar year. Foster Parent Leave is attributed per foster family, not per individual foster parent. Foster Parent Leave time can be used for obligations that come with foster parent status (attending hearings of the Juvenile Court, appointments with the juvenile protection services).
Scheduling Foster Parent Leave
- Discuss your Foster Parent Leave plans, in advance, with your manager. While business requirements must be taken into consideration, your manager will work with you to ensure that work load does not restrict you from taking Foster Parent Leave.
